Wrestling Renegades

Through being fans for almost three decades, Zach and Paul have had their ups and downs with loving wrestling. Deciding to start a podcast and document their fandom, as well as look outside the confines of traditional WWE, seemed like a natural next step. Whether it's arguing over "business vs. storyline", having their friends throw in their two cents, or just generally having fun, Wrestling Renegades can be enjoyed by any fan of professional wrestling. Starting in 2019, frequent guest Pat Kasch joined as a rotating co-host, thus forming the basis for “Renegade Rules” in terms of who you may get as your hosts for any particular episode.

JANUARY-MARCH 2019 EPISODES

Episode 65: He Is Broken In Half

SYNOPSIS:

DISCUSSED: King Of The Ring 1998

Zach and Paul are slightly late, but they're here to discuss an interesting card. It's King of the Ring 1998! Featuring Steve Austin v Kane in a First Blood match, a tag title match with a bit of interesting history, a King of The Ring crowning, and the infamous Hell in a Cell with Undertaker v Mankind!

Episode 64: Total Nonstop Agony (We Just Don't Understand)

SYNOPSIS:

DISCUSSED: NWA-TNA Chapter 1

It's time to step outside the Renegades 'comfort zone'. Little did they know that stepping into what would be later known as the 'Impact Zone', would make them even more uncomfortable than initially thought. It's the first ever weekly pay-per-view of National Wrestling Alliance: Total Nonstop Action.

Zach and Paul walk away from the episode clutching their heads, not understanding anything. Whether it's burying the company you're in business with, celebrating the south by making fun of them, unsubtle hints at racism in 2002, and much more, NWA:TNA raises more questions than it ever answered.

There's also some news and rumors from elsewhere in the world of professional wrestling. Normally we refer to it as "the whacky world of pro wrestling", but trust us, nothing is whackier than NWA:TNA.

Episode 63: The Genesis of Stone Cold Steve Austin

SYNOPSIS:

GUEST: Kevin Zane

DISCUSSED: Steve Austin in ECW

The Renegades are back and they have a guest with them. Zach and Paul are joined by good friend, wrestling historian, and podcasting powerhouse, Kevin Zane.

Kevin got to pick the topic this week and he brought one of the more interesting choices in the history of Wrestling Renegades. It's various segments from ECW Hardcore TV in 1995 (time codes included below). These segments provide the blueprint for what would become the biggest star in the Attitude Era (if not wrestling overall), 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. But here, he's simply Steve Austin. See the man go through the transformation from angry over being fired via telephone to one of the best promo guys in the business. This is "The Genesis of Stone Cold Steve Austin".
